Budget Friendly DIY Laundry Detergent
I’ve been making this budget friendly Laundry Sauce for ages now. It saves me TONS of money with having 3 guys in my house!
I do laundry almost daily and needed a cheaper option than the Tide which costs me roughly $2.00 a load almost! That was eating away at my food/supply budget. I couldn’t afford to eat AND do laundry at the same time! It got to be a little ridiculous.
This laundry sauce costs me around .20 cents a load! I love that cost! It’s so much more effective, I’ve found, at getting out stains. Although it doesn’t substitute for bleach, it definitely helps me keep my whites clean.

I use the recipe exactly as called for save for one aspect. DoTerra Essential Oils is something I add to the water when I’m dissolving the soap. I have a high-efficiency washer and sometimes it starts to stink. The essential oil helps it smell cleaner for longer! Although it doesn’t substitute a good cleaning of your washing machine. Who would have thought that you’d have to clean the machine that cleans your clothes! Affresh makes a great cleaner for high-efficiency machines.
Cheers!

Nila, I used to use afresh in my washer but still wound up with a stinky washer, it might be due to the fact RV’s are prone to excess moisture, but I started buying 15 lb sacks of baking soda at sams. I add one scoop to every load and my clothes and towels feel and smell cleaner and no more stinky washer
